CEOs Have to Get Out of the Busyness Game to Create a Legacy
As a CEO or leader, one of the biggest challenges you face is the endless cycle of busyness—jam-packed schedules, back-to-back meetings, and a mind that never rests. While this level of activity might feel productive, it often distracts from what truly matters: creating meaningful impact and building a legacy.
In this episode of The Daily Hint with Jens Heitland, I dive into the mindset shift required to step out of the busyness game and focus on what counts. Building a legacy isn’t about being remembered as “the busiest person in the room.” It’s about driving meaningful change, making an impact you’re proud of, and leaving the world better than you found it.
To do this, leaders must learn to:
• Clear their minds: Take time to think strategically and focus on long-term goals instead of daily firefighting.
• Prioritize what matters most: Identify the actions that align with your values and vision for the future.
• Redefine success: Move beyond immediate results and embrace the idea of legacy-building as the ultimate leadership achievement.
Ask yourself: Are you allowing busyness to cloud your vision? Or are you creating space to think clearly, lead intentionally, and leave a lasting mark on the world?
This episode offers practical insights to help you shift your mindset, focus on what truly matters, and build a legacy that inspires. Tune in now to explore how you can break free from busyness and embrace purposeful leadership.

The biggest challenges CEOs and organizations have is busyness because our mind is racing all the time. Our assistant is putting us into meetings and moving things around so that we, yes, have a little bit more freedom, but in the end we are busy, busy, busy. So how do we take ourselves out of this to think clearly and look into how do we do the things that matter most and change the way that we as CEOs are impacting this world?
How do we do that in creating a legacy for ourselves? I often talk about legacy, and that's not for being the big boss and showing up. It's more about that we are proud of what we have established, of the change that we are driving in this world. So question to you, what are you doing to keep clear in your mind every day and look ahead for how you are going to change the world?
