This Is Why You Should Invest in Your SM-ME-500

In the journey of leadership and personal growth, one investment stands above the rest—the investment in yourself. In this episode of The Daily Hint with Jens Heitland, I share why focusing on your “SM-ME-500” can create long-term success, not just for your career but for the legacy you’re building.

Over the past five years, I’ve realized the importance of prioritizing self-investment even over business growth. Why? Because as leaders, we are our own most valuable asset. The knowledge, skills, and perspective you cultivate today will empower you for decades to come, allowing you to navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and amplify your impact.

Investing in your own development builds the foundation for thought leadership—a long-term strategy that sets you apart in your industry. It’s about creating value not just for your career but for the communities and organizations you influence.

If you’ve ever wondered how to future-proof your career and maximize your potential, this episode is a must-listen. Tune in to discover why your personal growth deserves to be your top priority.

This is why I, as a CEO of a company, invest into the SME 500, not the SMP 500. So, investing into myself, specifically over the last five, six years, is incredible. What I did was Looking into how do I build my thought leadership over the long term and then investing into myself as the first priority, even not as much as investing into the business that I'm building because I know I will be the strongest asset for everything that is going to come.

for me over the next 40 to 50 years. And that's a huge advantage that every one of you can do too. Invest into the SM ME 500 and you will change the world long term.
