The One Thing I Wish I Had Built Sooner: My Personal Website

We all have those moments in life and business:
“If only I’d started this earlier.”

For me, it wasn’t an investment strategy or a business model.
It was a personal website.
Not a vanity project, an asset.
One that compounds in value the longer it exists.

Here’s what I learned and why every CEO should rethink their digital presence.

1. A Personal Website Is a Long-Term Brand Asset.
Social platforms change. Algorithms shift.
But your website is yours. It’s the only place where your ideas, achievements, and values can live and evolve without interference or expiration dates.

2. Your Website Is the Ultimate Digital Repository.
Most CEOs post on-the-fly content disappears into the feed.
Your site gives structure. A place to archive, categorize, and showcase what matters most from keynote appearances to blog articles to interviews.

3. It Compounds Like Financial Capital.
Each article, story, or insight you publish adds value.
Over time, your website becomes a library of credibility for future clients, partners, and media to explore and understand who you are.

4. It Signals Ownership, Intent, and Authority.
Having a personal website isn’t just about presence, it’s about positioning. It shows you’re intentional about your legacy and strategic about your influence.

Final Thought:

The Best Time to Start Was Years Ago. The Second-Best Time Is Today.

Don’t wait for a book launch, a title change, or a career pivot.
Your personal brand needs a foundation now.

This episode shows you how to build it and why I’ll never operate without one again.

Tune in to The Daily Hint and start building your digital legacy today.

Every one of us has this experiences where we learn something and then we wish we would have known this 20 years ago. For me, this moment was when I figured out that I don't have an asset, an asset that is building compounding interest for myself. And this asset that I have discovered a couple of years ago was my personal website. I have never put things in. To a digital repository that I can utilize for years to come.
