Drawing from personal experience and cultural observations, Jens highlights the challenges and importance of this practice in both personal and professional contexts.

Growing up in a small German town, Jens explains that it wasn't common to ask for things—people took what they were given and were content with that. This upbringing made the act of asking seem daunting. However, in the realm of leadership and entrepreneurship, this mindset needs to shift.

Jens shares his journey of overcoming the discomfort of asking for what he believes is necessary, both for himself and for others. He emphasizes that learning to ask is essential for success. Whether it's seeking help, resources, or opportunities, the act of asking opens doors that would otherwise remain closed.

It's difficult to ask for things  in the society we're in, or at least how I grew up as a German in a small town. It was not usual that you are asked for all the different things. You take what you are given and then you are happy with that.

But especially when we are in leadership in a business context and or running our own companies, it requires us to step up and asking for things. It's difficult for me. I have experienced this over the last years being an entrepreneur. It's difficult for me to ask people for what I believe is good for them, but asking is difficult.

Learn to ask and through asking people for help, asking people for what you want, you will succeed.
