Trust comes from giving trust first. I always start with a step into the relationship with someone I don't know yet with trust. I trust everyone I work with as a general rule. And, of course, you say trust can only be built over time. But if you never trust a person from the beginning, how can they prove you wrong? So they always need to do a lot of work to enable you to trust them. I do it the other way around. I give a lot of trust, and then I help the other person to grow that trust even further over time.
And if they prove not trustful, I will step back. And that helps me to move fairly quickly in relationships and enable other people to grow very fast because I trust them that they can do what they're saying. I trust them that they can trust themselves.
