Creating a consistent stream of content for social media can be overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to build a personal brand. When I first started focusing on my personal brand, the sheer volume of content I needed to produce seemed daunting. How could I keep up with the demand without running out of ideas or energy? It wasn’t until I discovered the pillar content strategy, popularized by Gary Vee, that things began to change.

The pillar content strategy is all about starting with a core piece of long-form content that can be repurposed across different platforms. For me, this started with podcast episodes, which naturally combine audio and video formats. From a single podcast episode, I could extract a variety of content pieces—a blog post from the transcript, short video clips for social media, and more. This approach not only maximized the value of each piece of content but also ensured a steady flow of material to share.

By breaking down one large piece of content into smaller, more digestible parts, I was able to maintain a consistent presence across all my social media channels. The best part? This strategy works for anyone, regardless of their niche or audience size. When I started to build my personal brand and wanted to post more on social media, I was overwhelmed with understanding how all of that works. But even more so, I was overwhelmed with how to produce the content to be posted regularly. Until I learned a strategy from Gary Vee that changed my whole life.

And the strategy is called pillar content strategy. In a pillar content strategy, you start with long-form content that you can distribute in different ways. into the social media. So, for me, that was a podcast episode. A podcast episode is audio and video. And, of course, from that transcribed, you have a blog post as well, which is already three pieces of content.

But not just that, we cut the podcast into smaller clips, which I was able to distribute again into different pieces of content. Pillar content changed the game, how I can produce social media posts ongoing throughout the internet without ever running out of content. And this will work for you too, if you use the pillar content strategy.
