The No. 1 Problem of Great Leaders

Great leaders often face an unexpected barrier in their career progression—they don’t utilize the strategies that less effective managers use to climb the corporate ladder. In this episode of The Daily Hint with Jens Heitland, we explore why great leaders are sometimes overlooked for promotions and how they can change that dynamic without compromising their integrity.

The key lies in adopting a mindset shift. Instead of passively waiting for recognition, leaders need to embrace the belief that they have the power to achieve any position they aspire to. This starts with self-confidence and is reinforced by strategic networking. By building a strong network, leaders can gain access to higher levels within the organization, unlocking opportunities they may not have previously considered.

While bad managers may use aggressive tactics like “elbowing” their way to the top, great leaders can use a more thoughtful approach. With the right strategy and tactics, leaders can advance their careers with the full support of their teams. In this episode, we break down how to apply these methods to your leadership journey. Tune in and discover how to turn your leadership strengths into promotion opportunities.
