Manage Your Time
Welcome to another episode of The Daily Hint with Jens Heitland. Today's episode is a deep dive into one of the most crucial skills for any leader: time management. Managing your time effectively is not just about personal productivity; it directly impacts your entire team and their ability to perform.
As a leader, your time management sets the tone for your team. When you manage your time well, you create a positive example that encourages your team to do the same. One of the most powerful tools at your disposal is your calendar. Use it as your central planning hub for both personal and professional commitments. This approach not only keeps you organized but also makes your availability transparent to your team.
However, effective time management goes beyond just using a calendar. It's essential to cultivate a shared language within your team to differentiate between tasks that are urgent and those that are important. This clarity helps in prioritizing tasks effectively and ensures that everyone is on the same page. By addressing these priorities collectively, you can reduce unnecessary stress and enhance overall productivity.
Start implementing these strategies today to see a remarkable improvement in how you and your team manage time. Remember, the sooner you enable your team to understand these principles, the better your work environment will be. Tune into this episode of The Daily Hint for a concise and impactful lesson on mastering time management as a leader.

Managing time as a leader is the essence what you should be doing. Because your time and how you manage your time is impacting everyone that is reporting to you and is working with you in one environment. You as a leader are the good example.
So be diligent on how you use your time and that's simpler said than done. I always start with use your calendar as the number one planning tool for everything, for personal things and business things. So you're organized and everyone can understand when you're free, when you're not free.
And on top of that, work with your team, that you engage with each other and build language around what is truly important and what is urgent? And what are the things that maybe we don't need to do right now? As sooner you do this as a manager and enabling everyone in your team to understand this, as better it is for the time you spend at work.
