Let’s Create Content That Truly Connects
When it comes to creating content—whether for social media, marketing, or personal branding—there’s a fundamental truth we often overlook: people care more about themselves than about us.
Picture this: you’re driving a flashy car down the street, maybe a Ferrari. The onlookers aren’t marveling at you; they’re imagining themselves behind the wheel. This observation is key to understanding human psychology, especially in the digital age.
If your content is centered around showcasing you, it’s likely to miss the mark. Why? Because your audience is constantly asking, “What’s in it for me?” That’s where the real magic happens—when you shift the focus from yourself to addressing the needs, aspirations, and interests of your audience.
In this episode of The Daily Hint, we unpack how to produce content that triggers meaningful engagement. Whether you’re building your personal brand or striving to stand out in a crowded digital landscape, this approach can transform the way you connect with others.
Key Takeaways
• Content resonates when it speaks directly to the audience’s desires and problems.
• Highlight the value your content provides, rather than focusing on self-promotion.
• A small mindset shift from “Look at me!” to “This is for you!” can have a big impact on engagement.

It's sometimes hard to realize it, but in the end, nobody cares about us. It sounds strange. I get it. And if you drive the biggest car you can imagine, and I'm not a big car fan, but imagine I'm driving a Ferrari down the street. The people that are looking at me are not looking at me. They're looking at the car.
car and they think about how cool would it be if I, them in this case, would be driving this car. They can't care less about me. And that's the same when we look into the internet and social media. Everyone that is consuming like this content, you don't care about me, you care about yourself first. So, producing content for ourselves doesn't work.
Producing content that is triggering the other person, like in this case you, makes the difference. What content are you producing?
