Delegation is one of these funny things. There's a lot of theory about this, but in the end it's very simple.  Delegate something to someone that can do the task, or getting a little bit challenged by the task, and then empower them to do that by giving them the resources they need to be able to do that, and then enable them to take decisions.

You need to delegate fully, not just, Hey, I want you to do this task. You need to enable them to do the task properly and that they can take decisions, that they know what it is about, that they know what is the target and that they know  the understanding of what is expected from them as simple as that.

And if you're able to do that, you will see the feedback from the other people  that you delegate something to  and you will  succeed.
