Are you congratulating all your connections to their birthdays? No? Why not? Why do you have a connection, let's say on LinkedIn, and you don't congratulate them to their birthday? This is the number one networking trick I always share with people around me and say, Hey, if you are not congratulating people that are in your network to their birthday, why are they then connections?
Because I believe a birthday is a yearly event that we all have, we are all not born, and we love to get congratulated to our birthday. And just by an easy way that you send a text message to someone and say happy birthday, you stay connected to that person over years.
And you do this without getting anything in return. And that's the magic. Stay connected to people by congratulating them on their birthday.
