This is How You Get Your Application On Top of all Others
In this episode of The Daily Hint with Jens Heitland, we dive into a game-changing strategy to help your job application rise above the rest—the “party invite tactic.” This innovative approach moves away from the traditional method of sending out resumes and hoping for the best. Instead, it focuses on building relationships and engaging decision-makers in a unique, meaningful way.
What’s the secret? It’s all about organizing a “party.” This doesn’t necessarily mean a physical event; it can be a digital invite or interaction that provides value to the people who can influence your hiring process. The beauty of the party invite tactic is that you’re not directly asking for a job or trying to sell anything. Instead, you’re creating a setting where a conversation can naturally unfold, making the decision-makers more inclined to view your application favorably.
By understanding who holds the decision-making power in the hiring process and crafting an invitation that piques their interest, you open the door to genuine engagement. This tactic shifts the focus from you simply being an applicant to someone they want to know and work with.
If you’re tired of blending in with the crowd and want to stand out in your job search, this episode offers practical steps to elevate your approach. Start leveraging the party invite tactic today, and you’ll soon see your application at the top of the list.

Have you heard about the party invite tactics? The tactics that get your application on top of any other application when it goes to job search. Here is how it works. You organize yourself in a way that you understand exactly the people that are the decision-makers in getting that job. And that means that you build something where you can invite them to. And that's what I call a party. It can be literally a physical event but it can be as well another digital invite that's valuable to the other person where you invite them in. And this party invite is so powerful because in the end you're not asking them for a job. You're not selling anything. It's just, hey, are you interested to join whatever the party invite is? Conversations start with the party invite.
