The Keynote Framework that Helps You to Build Your Brand

Delivering a memorable keynote requires more than just information—it’s about capturing and holding your audience’s attention. In this episode of The Daily Hint with Jens Heitland, we dive into a simple yet highly effective framework for structuring keynotes that resonate with your audience and build your personal brand.

The framework consists of three parts: the hook, the story, and the offer.

  • The Hook: This is how you grab your audience’s attention from the start. It introduces the topic in a way that pulls people in and makes them curious to learn more.

  • The Story: This is where you relate the topic to a personal experience or a story from someone in your ecosystem. By adding a human element, you make the message more relatable and engaging.

  • The Offer: Finally, you provide insights, solutions, or possibilities that your audience can apply in their own context. This is where the educational aspect shines through, helping your audience to walk away with value they can use.

By following this framework, you can deliver keynotes without relying on text-heavy slides. It frees you to focus on connecting with the audience, ensuring that your message has a lasting impact. Whether you’re preparing for a short speech or a full keynote, this method helps you stay memorable and keep the spotlight on you—the key to building a strong personal brand.

Listen to this episode to learn how to implement this framework and make your next keynote your best yet.

People wonder when I do a large keynote, how I put these things together. And by using only pictures, I always try to stick to pictures because pictures put the attention on me. Because when you're holding a keynote, be the most important person in the room at that point in time. You need to keep the audience connected to you and not reading text.

That is somewhere put on a PowerPoint, a framework that I always use as the hook story. And then the offer in the hook, you get the people hooked to the topic itself. And then you tell a story that links the topic to what you have experienced or others in your ecosystem. And then you offer wisdom, education, and possibilities for others to understand that from their perspective.

And then you have a framework that you can utilize for keynotes and speaking freely. For an hour or two without even needing the text in front of you, because you remember the hook, you remember the story, and remember the offer that goes deeper into what you're talking about. Very simple framework that you can utilize for your keynotes too.
